In the Reno-Tahoe Odyssey Relay Run Adventure, teams of 12 runners travel 178 miles starting downtown, running along the Truckee River, through the mountains to the shores of Lake Tahoe. The event supports Angel Kiss Foundation and Tahoe Pyramid Bikeway. Details: 336-8528.

The 10th annual Pops on the River promises to be another great time in Wingfield Park. Decorate a table, drink, and eat to the sounds of the Reno Philharmonic and special guests. This is the orchestra’s largest fund-raiser. Details: 322-2030. renophilharmonic.com

JULY 14, 2005

The fourth annual Nevada Women’s Fund invitational golf tournament, called “Yankee Doodle Dandy,” will be held at Red Hawk Golf Course. Money raised goes to deserving women and children in the area. Details: 786-2335, nevadawomensfund.org.

About 900 motorcycle riders are anticipated for this Klothes 4 Kids event. Food will be donated by various vendors such as Krispy Kreme, Boyd’s Coffee, Pepsi, and more and the event is sponsored by Reno Harley-Davidson and Channel 4. Aaron Arnoldsen Memorial Golf Tournament Cost is $125 includes green fees, cart fees, tee prizes, on course beverages, lunch and dinner. Four Man Scramble. 1 p.m. Shotgun start. Washoe County Golf Course. Dinner provided by Pinocchio’s. All funds raised go to scholarships at the University of Nevada for males and females in need. Washoe County Family Resource Center Coalition Benefit Concert featuring alternative rock ‘n’ roll band 5thirty5 at Bartley Ranch. The Family Resource Centers are a safe and friendly place for families to go for help. The centers work with each family individually to evaluate needs and provide information and referral services.

Money raised will aid families in Washoe County. Tickets are $15. All money from ticket sales will go to the Family Resource Centers. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Details: 353-5563.

Safe Embrace — A Family Violence Intervention and Prevention Program -- in partnership with the Siena Hotel, presents Embracing the Community-Action, Auction and Honors. October is Domestic Violence Awareness month and Safe Embrace will honor friends, donors, and partners as well as offer exciting auction items.
